Hector Lopez- Fishing on
the Red Rooster III
Last day of the trip Hector needed a "big cow" to lift the
curse of not catching many fish, only half a dozen so far on the last
day of the trip, Some fellow fisherman have caught that in one day.
Hector picked up a International 80W and used a 3 pound skipjack as bait,
dropped it in and instantly the line was tight the big tuna was right
under the boat. The tuna was tail-wrapped after a half hour fight, concerned
the line may break from being on the bottom, Lopez managed to get the
tuna to the surface in only 55 mins.
It took five gaffs to boat it.
The Tuna weighed in a 310.8 pounds, the first 300-pounder landed at the
Cleofas Bank.
