the added benefit of a Live Liner® drag, ideal for swimming
live baits. The Penn Live Liner® is the perfect reel for anglers
who prefer the ease of a spinning reel, but the practicality of
a conventional reel. The Live Liner® drag can be adjusted to
control the drag tension, allowing anglers to fish various sized
baits and maintain control over the bait, an essential factor when
live-lining for various gamefish such as Striped Bass, Sailfish,
Roosterfish, or Snook. Macho Metal Full Metal body.
Tough All Metal Ultra Premium Machine Cut Heat Treated Stainless Steel Main and Pinion Gears
Serious penn reel targeting trophy fish. Full metal body over-sized, sealed drag located under-the-spool ensures consistent and smooth performance.
Dear Penn
My name is Todd Weible I have been using Penn rods, reels since I have been fishing which is over 20 years , I have a 6500ss, 650ss 309 level wind 9 level wind 935 and my most recent purchase was the new 4600l Live Liner all the reels have a PENN rod to mount onto because I really like your product I am writing you because I recenty was in a " striper-rockfish" tournament in Rock Hall Mary land The Rock Hall watermans association holds this tournament for the last 8 years. This year I caught the winning striper Rock fish 19. 3 lbs on the PENN 4600L Live liner . the fish took first place worth $10,000 . Gary Tacchi owns the boat that I was fishing on Gary also has numerous Penn reels and rods and without Gary I would never have landed the fish because he was the man who netted the fish and he does own the boats Gary also caught a 12.9 lb striper and a 7.7 lb striper so with our combined weight we won another $1000 needless to say we had a really good 3 days on the chesepeake Bay
The stripers have finally returned to the Western end of the Long Island Sound (on the NY/CT border). I went out on my boat at 5AM this morning, snagged up a dozen bunker deep in Greenwich Harbor (in Greenwich, CT) and lived them along the shoreline of Greenwich shoreline....and landed these two nice 15 pounders both within 50 feet of land...in less than 4 feet of water....the stripers both came up and slapped the bunker then came back around and gulped them whole...both put up nice fights.....and as always I tagged and released both fish. Two Greenwich Harbor Policemen were out in their patrol boat this morning and were kind enough to pull up along side me and take the photo !!!!!!!!!
I caught both these fish on a Penn 4600L Slammer Live Liner reel on a 7' Penn Power Stick Spinning Rod....and I was wearing my lucky PENN tee-shirt !!!!!!!!! I LOVE Penn products (and so do my 2 kids...Laura who is 14 and Richard who is 11).
